  1.   WXTERM supports Windowed Xmodem, now available on People/Link through
  2.   the DOS gateway available in many communications programs such as Qmodem,
  3.   Procomm, Pibterm, Crosstalk and others.

  6.   To use WXTERM:
  7.  
  8.       1.  After going online with the bbs or service that you wish, but
  9.           before entering into Xmodem file transfer, run the WXTERM program
  10.  
  11.               Crosstalk:      RUN WXTERM    (or just RU and then WXTERM)
  12.                                              at the DOS > prompt)
  13.  
  14.               GT PowerComm:   Alt-1         (WXTERM at the DOS prompt).
  15.  
  16.               Procomm:        Alt-F4        (WXTERM at the DOS prompt).
  17.  
  18.               Qmodem:         Alt-R         (WXTERM at the DOS prompt).

  21.       2.  The first time that you run WXTERM you will need to set
  22.       parity, baud rate, com port (COM1 or COM2), stop bits
  23.       and PC Jr mode.   Use Alt-P to accomplish this.

  25.       3.  Alt-R is Windowed Xmodem receive (with auto fall back to
  26.       CRC Xmodem and then Checksum Xmodem).

  28.       4.  Alt-S is Windowed Xmodem transmit (however the receiving
  29.       computer actually decides which protocol to use).
  30.  
  31.       5.  Alt-X will let you exit WXTERM.  If you get a DOS prompt
  32.       at this point, enter EXIT <return> to exit DOS and return
  33.       to your primary communications program.

  35.   Soon many of the primary communications programs will have their
  36.   own WXmodem support.
  37.  
  38.   In the meantime, please feel free to use and distribute this program.

  40.   Windowed Xmodem will improve your download and upload times by 30% to
  41.   70%!    At 1200 baud, you will see improvements of 45 to 60% in file
  42.   transfer times.

  44.   Windowed Xmodem is a public domain protocol.    You will find ARC files
  45.   describing the protocol and with source for this program in Turbo
  46.   Pascal on many IBM PC bulletin boards.
  47.
